摘要 《铁器时代》出版于1990年,是一部正面描写南非种族隔离战争的作品。小说主人公卡伦太太见证了20世纪80年代中期血腥的南非,并深切体验到种族隔离使国家产生分裂,对生命造成了重大伤害的事实。文章借鉴朱迪斯·巴特勒的战争伦理,对人类生命的脆弱特质得以体认。此外,本文通过对卡伦太太行为的分析,意在探讨人类极易遭受暴力的特质、回应暴力的方式和需承担的伦理责任。而所谓的“非暴力”的伦理体系,其核心则是承担责任以及道德方面的伦理挣扎,这一体系不仅指抗击暴力的正义之举,还包括对所有人生命的尊重与保护。 Age of Iron,published in 1990,is a positive portrait of South Africa's apartheid war.Mrs.Cullen,the protagonist of the novel,witnessed the bloody South Africa in the mid-1980s,and deeply experienced the fact that apartheid caused cracks in the country and caused great damage to lives.The article draws lessons from Judith Butler's war ethics to recognize the fragility of human life.In addition,through the analysis of Mrs.Cullen's behavior,this paper aims to explore the characteristics of human beings that are vulnerable to violence and the ways and ethical responsibilities of responding to violence.The core of the so-called"non-violence"ethical system is the ethical struggle in terms of responsibility and morality.This system not only refers to the just action to fight against violence,but also includes the respect and protection of all people's lives.
